What did neuroimaging and neurophysiology contribute to help patients with mental health conditions?

Well, there are certainly a lot of points, but from a patient's as well as psychiatrist's point of view the answer is: Not enough!
Thus, I am very happy to be part of the TNU, which particularly aims to use neuroimaging/neurophysiological methods to improve diagnosis and develop treatment strategies which might possibly have an impact on the well-being of mental health patients. As a physician I support the COMPASS-study, which intends to predict the treatment response of different antipsychotics in Schizophrenia with an observational approach by using neuroimaging, neurophysiology, and computational methods. Further research interests are spatial navigation in psychiatric disorders and the relation with memory and psychopathology.
I completed my psychiatric training at the Zurich University Hospital for Psychiatry (PUK) where I have a position as senior physician at the Center for Acute Psychiatric Disorders ("Mobiler Dienst Wohnversorgung") in Zurich.

If you are interested in participating in the COMPASS-study or you want to get more information about the project please feel free to get in touch with us!

Patients of the Center for Acute Psychiatric Disorders or the "Mobiler Dienst Wohnversorgung", respectively, are kindly asked to use my PUK contact information!
